The Valley of Despair is an area of Po-Metru.

History

The Valley of Despair is a location of intense heat and lifelessness in Po-Metru, near the border with the Coliseum and Ga-Metru. Few ever travel through, since it is an out of the way location, and one that requires complete commitment to move through, due to the heat.

During the Metru Nui Civil War, General Teles was forced to bring his army of Ta-Matoran and Onu-Matoran into the Valley for a surprise attack on the Po-Matoran leader, General Toru. However, due to having just left a hard battle, and due to the poor conditions, the soldiers began to rebel against Teles, barely kept in line by him. He managed to convince them to wait before trying anything, and was given an ultimatum.

He was forced to dispatch a sentry to Onu-Metru to locate Kohaku, having him brought back to the Valley in order to deliver a powerful speech to the men in order to keep them in line, which worked. However, within about one week's time, the Matoran began to move out to attack, but were overrun by the arrival of the Soldaat, who butchered them as they fled for safety.
