Standard Battle Drone

The Standard Battle Drone was a basic Drone Unit in "The Dark Lord" Drone Army.
History
The Standard Battle Drone, or "Drone" as it was typically called, was an attempt to create the ultimate robotic warrior. Each unit contained attributes of various other automatons, most notably the Vahki, reworked into a killing machine that would not tire, and would carry on its' mission until it was destroyed. The Drone's intelligence matrix was mediocre at best, allowing it to obey basic commands, but making it only about as intelligent as a standard Vahki. A Drone could take on a single Matoran in hand-to-hand combat and emerge the victor, but the units were fairly fragile and easily destroyed, so they mainly worked by overwhelming their enemy in huge numbers. This led to their nickname of "Toa Fodder" by the Sharaku of the team.
Nothing Personal
By 5,399 A.G.C., the bounty hunter Chazok had created the design for a grunt battle automaton, which he simply called "The Drone". This was the first in a long line of automatons that would eventually lead to his friend and partner Iron Knight. Argarak stole the data for all of Chazok's Drone designs from the databanks of The Inferno, which became the basis for his own army, which "The Dark Lord" in turn planned to use to conquer the Isle of Terra Nui.
The Power Within
One year later, Argarak had pre-fabricated nearly every single Drone of the three types, the majority of which were the Standard model, prior to landing on the Isle of Terra Nui. Upon reaching land and creating the Sharaku Stronghold, he left it to the Torika to assemble each Drone. At its' peak, the invasion force brought to the Isle of Terra Nui consisted of over twenty-five-thousand Standard Battle Drones. They were all destroyed prior to and during the Battle of Terra Nui. All of the units sent to capture Terra-Koro were lost, and Chazok's bomb destroyed an additional one-third of the army. The Battle of Terra Nui wiped out the last few thousand automatons, and the remains of the Drones were swept out to sea following the collapse of the Coastal Shelf. Ironically, their destroyed wreckage would later become the basis of a beautiful coral reef in the Sharakoro Islets.
Abilities & Traits
The Standard Battle Drone's armor, reflexes, and durability were roughly equivalent to those of a Vahki, which made them considerably weaker than even a novice Toa.

Each Standard Battle Drone carried a pair of brawler claws.
