Shore Turtle

Shore Turtles are flying turtle Rahi.
History[]
The Shore Turtle species was created by the Makuta using Viruses and Liquid Protodermis to be one of the Rahi to inhabit the Matoran Universe.
Many of these turtles lived on and around the island of Metru Nui and the Southern Continent. When the Great Cataclysm caused the region of the Southern Continent known as Voya Nui to rocket to the surface of Aqua Magna, some of the turtles took up residence on the new island.
Another population of turtles migrated to the newly-formed island of Mata Nui, where they established themselves in the Fau Swamp of Le-Wahi. During the Great War, Makuta Teridax had a number of these Rahi fitted with Infected Kanohi. The arrival of the Lehvak forced many of the Shore Turtles to move into coastal waters, where they had a more difficult time surviving. Toa Mata Gali and the Ga-Matoran of Ga-Koro made an extra effort to aid and protect these creatures along with the other swamp Rahi driven off by the Lehvak.
The Shore Turtles of Mata Nui have since migrated back underground.

Despite being slow and relatively harmless on land, Shore Turtles are capable of flight.
