Project: Toa Corps

Project: Toa Corps is a plan created by the Brotherhood of Makuta and put into action on the Isle of Angelus Nui, among other potential locations.
Summary
When the Corps Stones were found on Xia, a handful of buyers came forward. Among these buyers were various Makuta, who used various powers, such as Anger and Darkness, to influence the Stones. They began to pass out the Corps Stones to various Matoran across the universe, for varying purposes, ranging from creating chaos to finding servants for themselves.
Sanctus Epitaph
On the Isle of Angelus Nui, Makuta Seraph began to distribute Corps Stones to the populace, infecting them with Makuta-inflicted attributes. A total of five-hundred stones were distributed. They then let the Matoran run free, causing whatever harm they would. Soon, the Toa Angelus began to take action against these Matoran, and ended up losing their two senior members, Gaila and Lewin, leaving a trio of rookies, now led by Tala, to defend the island in their place, and to stop the users of the Corps Stones.
During the experimentation on Angelus Nui, a Tur-Matoran named Feran met Seraph in his guise as a distributor. Seraph implied that there were others like him, though this was a lie. He was constantly cloaked in the shadows and called himself the embodiment of hate. His only features were his emerald eyes that stuck out. The darkness he hid inside was complete enough that the daylight did not penetrate it. Seraph was able to vanish as quickly as he had appeared, implying that he was some sort of spirit, rather than a physical being.
Resolution
After a few years, every Corps Stone was destroyed by the combined efforts of the Toa. Originally it was just Gaila and Lewin, but then Tala, Seles, and Thete participated, as did Rien, who joined just before the last few Corps Stone users where handled, ending the threat to Angelus Nui.
When subsequently confronted, Seraph admitted that it was all done simply to gather data, and that it was now over on Angelus Nui. The knowledge gained from this research was then used by the Void Foundation in their plans involving the Sleepers.
